Dr. Pelson received his optometry degree from Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, OR in 2002. After optometry school, he completed a residency in primary care/hospital based optometry at the Hampton Virginia VA Medical Center, in 2003. Following this, Dr. Pelson began practicing full scope optometry in Grants Pass, where he provides primary optometric care for all age ranges; including glasses and contact lens examinations, medical evaluation and management of ocular conditions like macular degeneration, glaucoma, cataracts, eye infections and ocular manifestations of systemic diseases like diabetes. Additionally he co-manages many surgical cases ranging from cataract to LASIK surgery.
Memberships: Dr. Pelson is a member of the following professional organizations, the American Optometric Association, the Oregon Optometric Physicians Association and the American Academy of Optometry, of which he is a fellow. He recently finished serving the State of Oregon as a member of the Board of Optometry from Feb 2010 to May 2016.

Background & Interests: Dr. Pelson grew up in Tigard and prior to beginning his optometric career, he was active with the Boy Scouts of America, earning Eagle Scout, and served in the United States Nuclear Navy. In his leisure time he enjoys outdoor activities, like; hiking, mountain biking, camping and spending time with his wife, Karissa, and their four children.
